Welcome to Domino Classroom Pilot!

14 ambitious students and 1 happy teacher will show the world how you learn Chinese in 9 months.

Starting date: February 23rd.

I’ve recorded a personal “Welcome”-message for you here, it talks about the entire course layout and what you can expect (30 mins)

Q&A

What's the course layout?

Definitions:

Lesson - Video lesson on website

Class - Lesson/class with Felix

Usually, we'll have 2 classes every week. When we finish a level we'll take one class to review it.

Check schedule:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_pS7xt56IiT9UKXzajFwahZLQW7ZRwqRegva54QtCBs/edit#gid=0

To prepare for the course you 1. Watch 4 lessons (1 chapter)

2. Review them using our flashcards

3. Watch any recommended dialogs

4. Finish the course book for that chapter 5.

5. Class with Felix

We'll take first hour to review and second hour to practice/apply what you've learned.

Do I really get a free domino account now?

Yes! (Oh, we're so generous...)

(If you want a free account during this period) You need to cancel or reduce your subscription on domino, email me with your account email and I'll give you a premium account.

I've already studied. Should I reset my progress now?

We think it's best if you reset your progress when you start over.

However, we want this course to fit people who have already studied Chinese. We're open for suggestions if you have any. If you already know some, starting from scratch gives you an excellent chance to review. It'll get difficult fast so don't get cocky.

Anything else I need to think of?

Since you're the first group to take this course we've given you a discounted price with all the benefits we can offer -in return, we expect you to share your thoughts on the course.

You'll be ask to give feedback after every class. We'll send you a link for you to fill out. If you don't have anything new to say you don't need to do it. It's anonymous and we WANT your criticism.

You're going to help us set to standard for this to-be-world-leading course, so we hope you can comment below videos, if they're confusing or bad in any other way, I'll see to it asap so others' experience can be the best possible (Thank you in advance).

I have a clear idea of how to execute the course but I'm also hoping you'll have some ideas on how to improve it. Please share.

Where do we hang out?

We'll hang out on Discord, if you're a part of the Brave 13, you'll have an invite link on your email.

How do you need to prepare?

You don't need to watch any lessons before we start the course. If you have already finished some lessons, levels - good job! The first part of the course we'll be mainly reviewing for you.

The classes will be held on zoom, so you'll need to download the app and make sure you have a good internet connection and headphones.

Do you need to be able to write to pass the HSK exams or can you get away with using keyboard?

Keyboard is fine!

In the course I will not ask you to write by hand.

I’m stubborn in the manner I never give up.

 – Describe yourself at a karaoke party/bar.

I’ll lurk due to shyness and then when nothing is happening I’ll typically burst out and do something silly and get the energy going again to then go back to the wall and rest. I’m a sprinter aka short short bursts of energy. 🙂

– Do you have any hidden talents?

– What makes you really angry?

When I see others quitting/giving up, bullying

– Do you use Emojis? Which one’s your favorite?

Yes  I do thought it typically depends on my mood. currently the flaming poop one, though not sure if discord has it. I typically try to choose random ones that have no rhyme or reason. I do like this one though too (upside down smile) because I imagine being upside down and someone tilting there head to see the smile face.

– Felix or Ann?

This a Jacob/Edward (Twilight competition? LOL)  I would say Felix though, since you helped me with proposal etc. (even if Ann referred you). And overall seem like a goof ball. But Ann is more attractive and well I like Chinese/ Asian women ( I married one) so she has you beat there. Too bad it can’t be both since you both seem like an interesting duo. You two could possibly make an interesting skit that is learning and comical.
